Terms & Conditions

1. Entrants must be resident in the UK. Durham Council employees (that have a direct link to the campaign), their families, agencies, associates, printers or anyone professionally connected with the promotion are excluded from winning the 'resident prizes'.

2. To claim their prize, entrants must send in their winning Pledge slip with a utilities bill to: Recycling Rewards for Schools, PO Box 590, Preston, Lancashire, PR5 6XU.

3. Promotion closes 30/06/10. All prize claims must be received by 31/07/10.

4. The top performing pupil in each school will be awarded a top performer trophy as well as getting ONE entry into a prize draw to win a Nintendo DSi games console. To qualify for the top performer trophy and entry into the prize draw, pupils must achieve at least 10 registered Pledges either online or through postal entry. The best performing pupil in each school shall be the person who achieves the highest amount of REGISTERED pledges. In the event of a tie break, the best performing pupil shall be selected by that pupil who got their most recent activation by the earliest date and time. The prize draw will be held after 30/06/10 and the prize winner will be notified through their school.

5. Pupils will be awarded a Recycling Rewards for Schools lanyard for achieving 3 registered Pledges and a Recycling Rewards for Schools medal for achieving 5 registered Pledges.

6. Pledges can be registered by completing an online registration (www.recycleforschools.org/countydurham) or by posting their completed Pledge slip to Recycling Rewards for Schools, PO Box 590, Preston, Lancashire, PR5 6XU.

7. Schools will be awarded points on a monthly basis depending on the total amount of Pledges each school has achieved. Points can be exchanged for school equipment at any point during the campaign up until 31/10/10. Once a claim is made it cannot be changed or amended.

8. The promoter reserves the right to amend the points calculations and withdraw points at any time.

9. Only original Pledge slips will be accepted for a prize claim. Prize claims are subject to an independent security check. Prizes will be dispatched within twenty eight (28) days of receipt of a winning number in accordance with the above procedure, subject to availability.

10. No responsibility is accepted for prize winner's claims, or school equipment orders that are lost, damaged or delayed in the post. Proof of posting is not proof of receipt or of prize entitlement.

11. No responsibility is accepted for any incomplete, ineligible entries (which may be disqualified at the promoter's discretion) or entries which fail to arrive by the specified closing date.

12. All goods will be dispatched via carrier and will require a signature as proof of delivery.

13. It is deemed that all prize winners grant a license to the promoter to use names and photographs for publicity purposes or other material in relation to the promotion.

14. By registering a Pledge entrants agree to be bound by these rules and by the decisions of the promoter that are final in all matters relating to the competition. No correspondence will be entered into.

15. A list of the major prize winners will be available after 31/07/10. Send a S.A.E. to: Recycling Rewards for Schools, PO Box 590, Preston PR5 6XU and please mark the envelope 'Winners' after this date. The winning names will also be available after 31/07/10 by clicking on the 'winners' button at www.recycleforschools.org/countydurham.

16. Only one Pledge registration per household is permitted, and only one registration per email address. All winning entries will be double checked for bona fide addresses, and entrants must be 18 or over.

17. All items are subject to availability.

18. Participating schools must nominate a member of staff who will administer the scheme in accordance with these terms and conditions.

19. Durham Council cannot accept responsibility for lost, stolen or damaged applications. Proof of posting will not be accepted as proof of delivery.

20. Durham Council shall not be liable for any damage, claim or costs, however incurred, arising from this promotion, or from the failure of schools to follow the instructions and guidelines set out.

21. Force Majeure: Durham Council will not be liable for failure or delay in delivery or performance of their obligations under these terms and conditions due to any unforeseen cause beyond their reasonable control.

22. Where Durham Council believes that there has been a breach of terms and conditions, they will refuse to process any such claims.

24. In the event of circumstances beyond its control, the promoter reserves the right to vary the conditions of the promotion at any time.

25. These terms and conditions and any claim placed hereunder shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with English law subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

26. Upon registering a Pledge for the promotion, all residents give consent for further contact by telephone, post and email for any related communications by Durham Council.
